Plain Living and Higher Thinking - ideal life.

My idea of developing

New Vrindavana is to create an atmosphere of spiritual life where people in a bona fide order of social division, namely, Brahmacaris, Grhastas, Vanaprastha, Sannyasis, or specifically Brahmacaris and Sannyasis, and Vanaprasthas, will live there independently, completely depending on agricultural produce and milk from the cows.

The life should be simplified without being hampered day and night for economic development, without any spiritual understanding.

PRACTICALLY ATTRACT

Practically attract. Practically attract. The Hare Krishna movement will practically attract the people. If the world affairs are adjusted according to our Krishna conscious plan, there will be no difficulty for all the nations, all the countries. They will be happy. So we have to educate people gradually. And by our example, living example, we'll have to attract.

ONLY BY THIS MOVEMENT

So all over the world. It is not only in India - all over the world. There cannot be peace unless you reform the whole social structure, and that can olny be done only by this movement, Krishna consciousness. Only by this movement.

So this Krishna consciousness movement is trying to reestablish daiva varnashrama, where brahmana, kshatriya, vaishya, sudra, everyone. Systematic. We are therefore, proposing to start a college, varnashrama college. It is proposed . . . We are trying so many things, but this is also one of the programs, that the people of the world, they should be educated according to the quality and work: brahmana, kshatriya , vaishya, sudra.

. . .WE WILL DO IT

I wanted to introduce this. Now I have given you ideas. You can do it. You are all intelligent. For Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu's para upakara . . . [Cc. Adi 9.41 ] So you do good to others. Not exploit others. Any human being who has been bestowed by this body has the capacity to chant Hare Krishna. Give them chance and make situation favorable. Is that clear?

Vrindavana, Krishna Balarama Temple, Room conversation, Oct 8, 1977

YOU CAN DO IT. . .

After almost a decade of research, exploring rural India and training, we are finally confident to announce our proposal to begin the first ever authentic, Daiva Varnashram Dharma Training and Self-sustainable Vedic community. We have laid the foundation for this project by registering a Trust organisation within India, known as "Vrajabhumi Gita Trust."

There is yet a long way to go. It will require a tremendous amount of pioneering and more importantly, the participation and co-operation of all types of devotees. The key to Varnashram is the relationships of mutual support between the different groups. Varnashram means appreciating the work of others, no matter their occupation, because it is devotional service to Krishna. Therefore, each devotee has something to contribute, ultimately to facilitate the whole communities worship of the Supreme Lord.

Srila Prabhupada proposed Daiva Varnashram, to pave the way for spiritual progress by creating an environment in which chanting Hare Krishna and engaging in devotional service to the Lord would become easy and satisfying for everyone, even those coming from the lowest and least spiritually inclined segments of society. He said: " On these farms we can demonstrate the full Varnashram system. If these farms become successful, then the whole world will be enveloped by Krishna consciousness.". . . and. . . "By our example, living example, we'll have to attract."

We request the readers to explore our Website to fully comprehend our proposal and then contact us to pledge your support and participate.

. . . COLLECTIVELY

"WE WILL DO IT" - " FOR THE MASS BENEFIT OF ALL."

Varnashram is for the mass benefit of ALL. This was the mission of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, to benefit the masses by freely distributing the chanting of the Holy names of Lord Krishna. Lord Caitanya has spoken this verse: [Cc. Ādi 9.41]

bhārata bhūmite haile manuṣya janma jāra
janma sārthaka kari' kara para-upakāra

This Krishna consciousness movement is that para upakara, working for the mass benefit of ALL. Those who are followers of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, as is Srila Prabhupada, are also on the mission of "para upakara." The term "parapokari" is used to describe an entity having the same mission. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the prime example of a "parapokari', and because we are followers of Srila Prabhupada, who is also a follower of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, we too are meant to be

"kara para upakara" and the "parapokari"

The Big debate. . .

The question is, is the varnashrama institution negated, or should it be abandoned when one takes to the process of bhakti, or should the rules and regulations of varnashrama be followed in order to properly cultivate vaidhi bhakti?

At the time of practicing sadhana bhakti, so long as there is material desire within the heart, one should remain within the confines of the varnashram system

sādhana-kāle ye paryanta

hṛdaya kāma āche

se paryanta varṇāśramādi

dharmera apekṣā thāke
